Okay, okay, I know it's the 8th January and this post is a bit late. I'm sorry!! Every year, people come up with these resolutions that they plan on sticking to, and a lot of the time they don't. Over the years, I've come to call them 'Goals I want to achieve this year', long title but surprisingly fitting.
Worry Less/Be More Optimistic
One of my worst traits is that I worry about everything, and can tend to have a bit of a pessimistic outlook on the situation. This year I plan to let my life take shape, worry less about situations (not stop worrying completely) and think more positively about the life I'm leading. It's obviously not very good for your mental health if you're always thinking negatively... Now's the time to change that.
Spend More Quality Time With Loved Ones
This is especially important as now that I've finished university and am now living at home, I see my family almost every day, it's wonderful! I'm looking forward to spending their birthday's with them, and seeing movies at the cinema. This year feels like it will be a strong year for my family, and I'm looking forward to seeing how we come out of it better people.
I didn't want to set myself a 'resolution' to lose weight, starting on the 1st January, in my personal opinion, that's one of the worst things you can do. A drastic life change like losing weight, needs to begin when you are ready to begin, you know you will stay more on track and you will ultimately be doing it to make yourself happy, rather than doing it because you told yourself you would and If you don't start on the 1st, or keep up regularly then you will feel even worse about yourself.
So yes, I do plan on losing weight this year, but on my terms, when I'm ready, not when someone else tells me I have to.
Do you have any resolutions/goals this year? Are you sticking to them or have some been broken already? Let me know in the comments :)
